Jackie Martello has been with Merrigan Legal since 2023, serving clients around the world by ensuring they’re heard and fairly compensated.
Since graduating from the University of California Law School, cum laude, Jackie has used her extensive interpersonal skills to listen to the needs of clients and find the best way they can be served by the justice system.
Jackie focused undergraduate studies in psychology at San Francisco State University, determined to learn the ways in which people think, strategize and approach problems in the world. She wanted to go into law with a better understanding of why people did the things they did and how it impacted everyone around them.
Throughout her studies she worked as a law clerk and judicial extern, learning the ways of the court systems and how the establishment interacted with the populace. Outside of her legal focuses, she worked in the San Francisco service industry where she interacted with the diverse communities of the city. She spent a lot of time listening and learning about the life experiences and cultures of people who came from all over the globe to call the city home.
As an associate attorney with Merrigan Legal, Jackie works directly with clients and experts to better understand the challenges of workers harmed on the job both at home and abroad, including those whose cases fall under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. She went into law school with goal of protecting the vulnerable and exploited and that is exactly what she intends to do.
When she isn’t on the phone with clients or combing through expert statements, Jackie is usually planning her next travel destination, eager to learn as much as she can about the world and the people in it. She is also currently learning how to swing a tennis racket.
